Beat 19 - Hundred House

Hundred HouseVouchers - Adults 4/ Under 14s 2.
Wading difficulty: 3

Upstream of Cregrina the Edw takes on a slower, more meandering character providing a quite different challenge to the rocky sections of river further downstream. Although the river is considerably smaller in width by the time it gets to Hundred House, there are some very deep pools that hold surprisingly large trout. Wading is relatively easy due to the gravel riverbed although because of the size of the stream here, a surreptitious approach is essential. The top 1.5km of the beat was coppiced by the Foundation in early '07 and is a lot more open.
