Salmon or Coarse fishing Holidays on the middle or lower river Wye
The packages listed below are for salmon fishing or coarse fishing, either at the weekend or during the week. For coarse fishing, there is an option to hire a guide/instructor by the half-day, including pre-baiting the day before. Adam Fisher has a wealth of knowledge of the lower Wye and the techniques required to catch the large barbel, chub and pike. Having grown up on the Wye, he retains a strong enthusiasm for the river and its inhabitants. Also a professional golfer, you may want to take the opportunity to acquire a few tips on your putting stroke! For salmon anglers, we will arrange for one of our Ghillies or a fully qualified Instructor to help out if required.
The accommodation for the weekday package is two nights at the Saracens Head or the Royal Hotel, Symonds Yat. The Saracens Head is a relaxed, family-run inn overlooking the Wye. All the rooms are en-suite, centrally heated and are tastefully decorated with antique pine furniture. The flagstone-floored bar serves local and classic real ales. There is a quality wine list. The Royal Hotel nestles into the hillside below Yat Rock. The hotel was built in 1876 as a hunting lodge for the Royal Family. Now it offers 20 ensuite rooms with stunning views over the river Wye.
The package includes fishing, accommodation, breakfast and dinner. A packed lunch is also an optional extra and a highly recommended one.

There are then 2 options when booking a Wye fishing holiday:

Pay for your accommodation there and then, giving you an option to choose either the Saracens Head or the Royal, subject to availability. Your fishing (and guide, if taking one) can also be reserved at this stage although you do not have to pay for the fishing immediately. A couple of days before you are due to arrive, we will contact you to arrange and take payment for your fishing.

Pay a deposit of £32 per person when booking. This secures you a room at the Royal Hotel. Your fishing and guide will be reserved at this point but no payment taken. 1 week before you are due to arrive we will contact you to confirm the accommodation and take payment for the full amount. You can, at this stage, arrange to move to the Saracens Head if it is available. The fishing can be confirmed and paid for then, or you have the option to wait until a couple of days before you are due to arrive.
Once you have booked we will send you details of your package, along with maps and directions to the fisheries and, if required, contact details for the guide/instructor. We suggest you make contact with the guide a few days before you are due to fish to arrange a meeting time and place.
