Description

Just over 0.5 mile of first class double bank salmon & trout in between Abergavenny and Usk. For salmon, the fishery is suited to both fly fishing and spinning with four main pools to choose from. The wild brown trout fishing is excellent, suitable for both the dry fly and nymph.

Access to the fishery is relatively easy in dry conditions anglers can drive to the bank through two gates but anglers are requested to make note that cattle may be present in the fields next to the river.

Once at the rivers edge, access to the water is good and wading relatively easy on a mostly gravel riverbed. For those requiring instruction/guiding, a local guide is available to hire please contact the Foundation for more details.

Rules and Regulations

• EAW bye-laws must be observed and it is up to anglers to familiarise themselves with these.
• 1 salmon can be taken per rod when byelaws allow.
• 2 trout can be taken per rod.
• Flyfishing and spinning (when byelaws allow) for salmon only. No bait fishing.
• Fly Fishing only for Trout
• Dogs allowed but must be kept under control at all times
• This beat is not covered under the Wash-Off policy
