Description

Those that read the angling press will have seen features on trout fishing on wild upland lakes, tucked away in the rugged geology of the more remote areas of the UK. This is just such a stillwater, sitting in moorland at about 1,700 feet above sea level. Its 45 acres offer truly wild fishing for the unique black finned trout of Bugeilyn, which average around half a pound. Daily catches of twenty of these extremely hard fighting wild brownies are not uncommon.

Care needs to be taken when walking around the lake; the ground is uneven and can be very boggy in places. When fishing Lyn Bugeilyn you are advised to take all the relevant precautions associated with being in exposed and remote areas. You should, if possible, always fish in pairs.

Please be aware that although there is a track down to the lake, this has deteriorated in the past couple of years and is now accessible only with a 4x4. Anglers without 4x4 vehicles will need to park up by the road and walk the 2.2 miles down to the lake.

Bank fishing only if booked through WUF

Please note that day tickets for Bugeilyn may be sold by another establishments so anglers booking through WUF are not guaranteed exclusivity.

Season 3rd March to 30th September.
