Description

Llangadog AA water is located on the upper half of the river Towy just above Llandeilo. It is split between 2 beats, the upper beat offering around ¼ mile of left bank fishing just above and below Llangadog river bridge, and the main beat slightly further down river being around 1.5 miles of single and double bank fishing below Manordeilo railway bridge, including the famous ‘Crewil Pool’ which is known as one of the best holding pools on the river and has, over the years produced some very big sea trout.

Fly fishing from last light and into the dark is a very effective and exciting way of catching sea trout but worm and spinner are also permitted methods on the Towy. Salmon can also be caught here from June onwards. The Towi has a healthy population of juvenile trout between 6 and 10 inches with 1-3lbs specimens possible. Evening rises with light tackle, maybe a 2-3wt rod can produce some great sport when conditions are right. The upper river is a steady glide taking you under the river bridge just outside Llangadog and is perfect for the fly at night. The main beat has several excellent pools and runs starting at the Railway Bridge pool and ending at the ‘bottom bend’ which is worth the walk!

A Club day ticket allows you to fish for salmon, sea trout or brown trout and covers a 24 hour period from 7am to 7am, allowing the mouth watering prospect of fishing for salmon and trout during the day followed by night fishing for the secretive and elusive Welsh sewin!

- Please note the brown trout season ends on the 30th September.

- Anglers are reminded that this is Club water and exclusivity cannot be guaranteed.

- All sea trout over 23 inches must be returned.

- An annual limit of 4 migratory fish may be kept per season.
