Approximately 3 miles of mostly double bank fishing on one of the classic beats of the middle Wye, located a few miles downstream of Hay. The fishery is split into 6 sections and offers good salmon fishing, especially in the spring, with plenty of water to accommodate the fly angler and those choosing to spin. Although the upper river is more noted for trout & grayling, fly fishing for these species is also available. Running predominantly over gravel, wading is much easier than the bedrock sections of the Wye above Hay. This part of the river also holds good stocks of coarse fish, especially barbel, chub and pike.

There is vehicular access to the bankside at several points but no commercial or campervan style vehicles permitted on the estate grounds. Please use the roadside lay-bys for this type of vehicle.

After booking, all anglers are requested to contact the fishery keeper prior to their visit so that they may gain further information on where on the beat they will be fishing. Contact details will be on the beat map and directions that accompany your Booking Confirmation email.

Canoe traffic can be heavy from 10am to 4pm at weekends during the warmer months, and especially during bank holidays.
