Wading difficulty: 3
Joining onto the downstream limit of Maes-y-Beran is the Lower Henllan Beat, approximately a mile of mostly double bank fishing. Half way up the beat is a stone arch spanning the river dating back to the early 1800's. This was the start of a bridge, the building of which was cancelled as a result of a neighbourly dispute, nowadays allowing only the sheep to keep their feet dry. This is a stunning stretch of rocky upland stream, which has recently produced some good sized wild brown trout.
