R4 - The Severn Arms Ithon

The Severn Arms IthonVouchers - Adults 3/ Under 17s 2.
Wading difficulty: 1

The Severn Arms at Penybont has the fishing rights to around 5 miles of river Ithon a few miles upstream of Llandrindod Wells. Here the river is medium sized and runs mostly over gravel, making it one of the easiest in the Wye catchment for access and wading.

The openness of the river enables anglers to cast easily although the lack of cover means extra stealth is required. Trout, grayling, chub and dace can all be found in this part of the Ithon.

The Severn Arms lost a proportion of its water in 2008, which has now been retained for 2009.

The Severn Arms also has accommodation available.
