Terms and Conditions

  1. BOOKING OFFICE

(For bookings made online, by telephone or in person).

    • Once a booking has been confirmed, refunds or postponements are only possible in exceptional circumstances whereby the angler is not able to take up the fishing due to an error or action by the fishery owner or by WUF's Booking Office (either personnel or website).
    • No sub-letting of bookings is permitted.
    • Every beat has its own specific rules and regulations with regards methods, bag limits and booking procedure (i.e. you may be required to contact the ghillie/fishery owner prior to fishing) etc. Details of these, along with a map, will be sent when a booking is made. Every angler must be aware of and abide by the fishery's own regulations and procedures.
    • Prices, fishery rules and availability of beats may change during the season to those listed in the 'Wye & Usk Passport' booklet.
    • Every angler fishing water within the Passport must have a current Environment Agency (EA) rod licence, be aware of and abide by the EA's byelaws.
    • Unless stated differently in a beat's specific rules, a rod may be shared by two people (maximum of two) but only one person is allowed to fish at any one time if so doing. Rod sharing is not permitted for Roving Voucher scheme fishing (see below).
    • Anglers must be in possession of a copy of the booking confirmation email or letter as proof of purchase of a day ticket. Anyone fishing without it may be asked to leave the water even if they have purchased a day ticket.
    • From 1st February 2011, bookings made by phone or in person are subject to a £3.00 fee. Bookings made online will be subject to a £1.50 fee.
  2. WASH OFFS

    (Booking Office fishing only)

Some Booking Office beats operate a "wash-off" policy meaning that should you turn up and are unfortunate to find the river in flood, you can at least re-book for another day without further payment. This policy has been negotiated with fishery owners on your behalf and is unique to the Passport scheme. The participating fisheries are clearly indicated in their beat description. The wash-off policy does not apply to any of the Roving Voucher beats.

Please note the following conditions to the policy:

    • A washed-off re-booking must be used on the same beat and within the same calendar year as the original booking, subject to the availability of that beat. Anglers should be aware that if a booking is made late in the year or season, it may not be possible to reschedule and therefore no re-booking can be made.
    • A different type of rod can be re-booked (e.g. a washed-off trout rod may re-book as a winter grayling rod after 17th October). However, any difference in price will be chargeable, and will incur the appropriate booking fee. If the re-booking is for a rod cheaper than the original booking, no refund for the difference will be made.
    • The re-booking option applies only in the event of a flood. It does not apply to merely 'difficult' fishing or poor weather conditions.
    • It is at the Wye & Usk Foundation's absolute discretion as to what constitutes 'flood conditions' and the Booking Office Manager's decision is final.
    • The decision to grant a wash-off can only be made on the day of the booking. Wash-offs cannot be granted in advance.
    • The policy is only applicable to some Booking Office beats. No Roving Voucher beats offer wash-offs.
  3. THE ROVING VOUCHER SCHEME

    • Roving Vouchers are only valid in the same calendar year they were purchased (except when buying vouchers specifically for the following year). No refunds or exchanges can be made should you be left with unused vouchers at the end of the year, except in exceptional circumstances when the angler is not able to take up the fishing due to an error or action by the fishery owner or by WUF (either personnel or website).
    • Roving Vouchers are sold in books of 10 (£26.00 per book). They are not sold individually.
    • From 1st February 2011, Roving Voucher purchases made by phone or in person are subject to an extra £3.00 charge. Purchases made online will be subject to an extra £1.50 charge.
    • You must post the required number of vouchers in the box (as described in the Passport brochure) BEFORE FISHING. If an angler is found fishing without having posted vouchers, or having posted insufficient vouchers, he/she will be asked to leave the water. Once you have posted your vouchers you may fish that beat as many times as you want that day. If you want to fish a different beat in the same day, you will need to post further vouchers appropriate to the new beat.
    • Rod sharing is not permitted on Roving Voucher beats. Every angler present must have posted the required amount of vouchers.
    • It is a condition of use that all anglers must post a catch return after fishing, even if no fish have been caught.
    • Anglers must be aware of individual beat rules and EA byelaws before fishing and must abide by them at all times.
    • Vouchers can be used to pay for Booking Office beats although a £3.00 booking fee will be applicable (in addition to the fee paid for the original purchase of the vouchers).
    • No dogs are permitted on any Roving Voucher Beat.
  4. GENERAL/ALL FISHING

    • The Wye & Usk Foundation reserves the right to exclude from the Passport scheme any angler found to be in breach of any of the above terms and conditions for an indefinite period.
    • If you are dissatisfied in any way with the service you receive please contact the Booking Office Manager on 01982 560 788 or admin@wyeuskfoundation.org as soon as possible. Any complaints or dissatisfaction with the fishing should be made via our online catch & feedback form - http://www.wyeuskfoundation.org/fishing/returns.php
    • All anglers must be aware of and abide by bio security measures, especially those regarding Gyrodactylus salaris.
    • Please follow The Countryside Code:
