The Usk, November 2007
PLEASE NOTE:
THE CAR PARK AT LLANGYNIDR WILL NOT BE READY FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS
We have negotiated a number of access and egress points for canoeing on the following 3 reaches, each of which has its own specific conditions. You are asked to remember that the right to cross land and canoe is given freely by generous owners and we rely on sensible use to sustain these arrangements. Please read carefully the terms of the reach before setting off.
Over the coming months, the access arrangements will be finalised and permanent signs will make routes much clearer. Given success with these arrangements, further reaches can be negotiated. Please let us know of any issues via the contact us page. It is important that you appreciate that the Upper Wye and Usk are not suitable for novices and should not be attempted by them unaccompanied.
The Usk is
a Special Area of Conservation and care should be taken not to damage
any bankside feature or disturb wildlife.
The following conditions apply:
-
Canoeing can take place between 18th October and 3rd March and ...
-
Outwith this period when the Upper Usk Gauge is above the red line
-

You are responsible for your own safety and insurance. You proceed entirely at your own risk.
-

-

-
Please remember that consent to cross land and water is granted only on the terms indicated here and in the individual reach notes
-
Take all your litter home
-

-
Consent ONLY applies to the reaches indicated and does NOT imply or authorise canoeing on any other tributary or stream.
