Our management and administration staff are based in our office in Talgarth.
WUF's founder and Advisory Director
Stephen is a founder member of the Foundation taking the chair in 1996 and later its first CEO. He has been responsible for the development of the trust from its embryonic start. This included developing bids to the EU, fundraising and engaging staff, many of whom are still with us today. IN 2011 he was awarded an OBE for services to the environment and conservation of the Wye and Usk. He is a keen fisherman, former international and Wye fishery owner.
Seth began his career in aquaculture (salmon hatcheries), before moving into the IT and building industries. A graduate in economics, he joined the Foundation in 2003 as Marketing Officer with the remit of starting the Fishing Passport scheme. His role these days is mainly project management although he is also responsible for PR, the Foundation’s website, IT development and fundraising.
Head of Finance
Sian is our Head of Finance. She is a Chartered Management Accountant with management level experience in manufacturing and the service industry prior to joining the Foundation. Sian joined the organisation in September 2017 and has quickly become an integral part of our team. She is endeavouring to learn about all things fish related.
Wendy joined the Foundation in 2004 to deal with the fishing bookings and general administration. Now, as Office Manager, she looks after the general book keeping, HR and other office management issues. She has a passion for the environment and conservation.
Allyson joined the Foundation in 2006 and is usually the first person you will talk to at the Foundation on the phone or if coming to our office. Initially employed to assist with administration tasks in general for the Foundation, the rapid expansion of the Passport meant her role quickly developed more towards the day to day running of the fishing scheme, advising anglers on how and where to book. Recently, she has also started co-ordinating and designing websites for affiliate organisations.
Misha is the Foundation’s Senior Education Officer. She has a degree in Heritage Management and Interpretation and has previously worked with volunteers and communities in natural and cultural heritage projects. Misha enjoys a varied working week visiting schools around the catchment, liaising with community groups and developing our education department. This enables us to fulfil the Foundation’s second charitable purpose: To educate the public in the importance of river conservation.
