Freshwater Friends

Our Freshwater Friends programme provides children with first hand encounters with the wonders of our natural world, either in the river or by bringing the river to them.

All our workshops involve active learning, lots of fun and quite a lot of shrieking as we send the salmon leaping and soaring skyward. Our Freshwater Friends activities really do offer something for everyone.

Groups simply make their selection from a wide variety of options which include: river dipping, using digital microscopes to look at adaptations, stream survival games or making salmon hats. All of the workshops are fun and all support and are linked to the National Curriculum documents for England and Wales.

For more details of see Our Services section.

This work is funded by our ongoing Freshwater Friends appeal but we are also hugely grateful to the Moondance Foundation for their very generous support of this initiative.
