Thursday 7th March, 2019

The 2019 salmon season started on Sunday 3rd March with the best opening day for quite some time.

Anglers in the Ross-on-Wye area enjoyed some success but it was Nathan Jubb, an experienced Wye angler and ghillie, that landed the first on his 3rd cast shortly after 7am at Coedithel in the tidal section of the river. Not only was is a very large salmon (31lbs) but it also earned Nathan the bottle of Pol Roger champagne for the first Wye fish of the season.

More details on the opening day can be found here.
